There’s a very cool spot for teens to hang out in Swift Current, Saskatchewan called The Center. There’s a lot of fun stuff to do, but they needed some cool art. So myself and two friends went and added some fun visuals to the walls. I painted a full body tiger leaping this time as well as a Prairie Lily, aka tiger lily, which is the Saskatchewan flower. My friend Jeff also arranged and assisted me with a rooftop mural of a baby moose on North Railway Ave in Medicine Hat, Alberta. I’ve...

I just finished a huge tiger mural in Shaunavon Saskatchewan for South West Mural Fest. This is Year 1 for this Fest and an obvious success right out the gate. Both the experienced muralist and less experienced did amazing murals and the community is all compliments and appreciation. My new friend Andrew did a great job curating and we’ve been sharing notes and ideas the whole time about how to run a great festival. For me, the easiest way to say it is… Nurture the community to become fans of...

Quick house keeping: My emails will now be coming from "[email protected]" to avoid spam issues. Please add it to your contacts. I love coffee. My favorite is usually a Guatemala bean with chocolaty notes(a subtle natural flavor). My favorite locally roasted bean is Nox by Volente which is part of the Modesto Gospel Mission. Its actually from Chiapas, Mexico which is on the north border of Guatemala. When the guys at Volente asked for a mural on the front of their roasting spot I was...

My favorite local bird is the central valley magpie. It’s unique to other magpies with it’s yellow beak. Outside of central California, magpies have black beaks. They are super smart and can be trained like ravens and crows. There are tons at my house and they seem to have a pack or family. Most have a very long tail which I believe grows with age. The long tail reminds me of a tropical bird. The black and white seemed like a good fit for a wedding venue, so when Chris from Hope Commons...

What kind of artist are you looking for? Production or Creative I’ve had many people ask me to paint things I don’t want to paint. Sometimes it’s a style/subject that I don’t enjoy or just would be super difficult with spray paint or it’s a sign/lettering that would look better if done by a sign maker. So I figure all artists are a 1 to 10. 1 being a production artist and 10 being a creative that only paints their own concepts. There are pros and cons to both. When I was young, I was a 10 but...

DoMo Walls was a great festival and I’ve received some wonderful feedback on the new murals we added to downtown Modesto, CA. Every year we gain momentum and more people get excited about what murals can do for Modesto’s identity and culture. Here's a pic of my daughter and I painting a mural together. The day after DoMo Walls I drove up to Eureka, CA for a reception to kick off an art show of mine at a gallery in the old town. The show was up for the month of October. Here's a news video...

New Video link at the bottom... Every time I go back to Montana it becomes more of a special place to me. The festival is a perfect blend of old and new friends. Great Falls is becoming an outdoor art gallery of some of the world’s most amazing mural artists. This year I brought the 1980’s. I tried to image Great Falls in the 80’s when I was riding a bmx and skateboard all day in California, were kids in G.F. dreaming of being a pro wake boarder(well water skier maybe). Was there nicknames...
